sunday 9th july: bill quay vs. boldon ca.

Sad to say this game fell victim to the heavy showers that persisted in the morning with the juniors well on top and after 11 overs the visitors were struggling at 29 for four with Adam Taylor taking three for 1. Surely a victory is not that far away.

Sunday 2nd July: ryhope vs. bill quay

The 11’s fielded first and did well to restrict the home side to 113 for five with 20 each (retired) from Lamb and Lawrence. In reply good contributions from Candlish 18, Bell 10 and a retired 20 from Johnny Basham got the Quay to within sight but sadly could not get their retired batsman back in and they ended just short at 108 for five by far their best performance to date.

Sun 18th June: bill quay vs Dawdon.

Following their victory in  the Cup the juniors entertained Dawdon in an exciting and nail biting game. The Quay batted first and made 81for seven with David Hill and Johnny Basham both retired on 20 and regrettably unable to get back in. Dawdon were coasting home and come the last over needed 2 to win with 4 wickets in hand. However the final over to be bowled by David Hill went dot ball, wicket (bowled), run out, dot ball, run out and unluckily the final ball was hit for 4 with the large crowd going mad.

Scores:
Bill Quay 81-7 Dawdon 84-9
Dawdon won by 1 wkt
