Sat 22nd July: home to Peterlee
A WIN. Holiday season started at the Quay with several regulars missing but the visitors turned up with 14 players and we were given 3 players to make up a side. The visitors batted first and a determined knock of 40 by Bayetts and a fine bowling spell by Nickelson two for 13 restricted Peterlee to 97 for 5. In a welcome change the juniors got off to a fine start and the runs kept on coming thanks to David Hill 32no, Nickelson 17 and Stephen Brunt 18no in a total of 99 for 4 with 3 overs to spare and thus the under 13’s first win in well over a year. Congratulations and thanks to Peterlee for being true sportsmen.

Sat 17th June away to Castle Eden.
Batting first the home side totaled 106/6 with 41 from Wimpeney and determined bowling from Alex Covell two for 18 and Liam Bell two for 18. In reply, despite the early loss of Alex Covell, Liam Bell and David Hill added 50 for the next wicket with 25 and 28 respectively but when both were out wickets fell and in the end ran just short of the total at 90 for four.

Sadly the juniors could not raise a side with several players doing other things but many forgot to advise the team manager and will cost the Club £50 for non fulfillment of fixtures and in all probability we will have to pay the travel costs for Seaham arrived at Bill Quay.
